Long Summer Solstice Weekend
Camp Full Monte - Montenegro - 19-22 Jun 2010
Join us for a long weekend when we explore the magic and madness of Midsummer. We will learn about ancient rituals, eat heartily and build fires. Ancient Pagans celebrated Midsummer with bonfires, when couples would leap through the flames, believing their crops would grow as high as the couples were able to jump. We’ll be practising our jumping as we want nice tall crops this year!
Midsummer was thought to be a time of magic, when evil spirits were said to appear. To thwart them, Pagans often wore protective garlands of herbs and flowers. We will try to make our own garlands from the wild herbs on-site.
We’ll assemble in the evening to light a sacred fire and stay up all night to welcome the dawn. All musical instruments and willing voices welcomed.
On Day 2 we will swap organic hangover cures!
