Spencer Tunick Photo Shoot

Gaasbeek Castle, Belgium - 10 Jul 2011

This summer and fall Gaasbeek Castle in Belgium will be occupied by numerous sleeping beauties.
The exhibition Sleeping Beauties (9 September – 13 November 2011) presents a selection of
contemporary artworks that all in a different way touch upon the broad theme of sleep and dream.

Gaasbeek Castle has invited Spencer Tunick to produce a new installation inspired by the fairy tale,
and this will take place on the weekend of July 10, 2011.

Spencer Tunick is an American photographer best known for his photographs that feature large numbers of nude people posed in artistic formations, often situated in urban locations.

Tunick started photographing nudes in 1992 on the streets of New York often bringing him to conflict with the police. Later his fame spread across the international art scene and he has taken mass nude photographs in many cities around the world.

In June 2003 he completed his largest photo by photographing 7000 Spaniards in Barcelona.
